I fell in love in Hamburg...
The UK is hosting the Olympics for the third time in a century. It's a great honor but unfortunately, the people aren't interested or enthusiastic.
The Big Idea:
For centuries, Greeks went on an arduous journey - a pilgrimage over land and sea to the Olympic cites. They brought gifts for the Olympic gods with prayers to gain favor and luck. To create excitement for the upcoming games, Lloyd's TSB will sponsor it's own great pilgrimage everybody can participate in, that will go from cities all over the UK to London.
It Begins:
Cities who want to participate will create a profile on MAKETRACKS.UK. Then, they will design and create a monument which they fell represents them as a community. Using a netbook donated to them by Lloyd's, they will document everything by posting written stories, pictures and videos.
The Journey:
Using the most creative methods possible, they must get their monument from their city to London. As they go, they will continue documenting their journey and when they log in, a map will update their whereabouts.
The Arrival:
All pilgrims will arrive during the same week. First, they will place their monument at one of the designated areas around the city. Along side it will be a QR code, which will allow others directly connect to their blog, and read about their journey.
The Party:
The whole week the pilgrims are arriving, there will be a traditional festival, just like in Ancient Greece, filled with music, dancing, theatre, and small athletic events for everyone who participated.
The Winner:
During the festival, everyone will vote on who had the most creative monument and journey. The winner will receive a donation from Lloyds to help them make their community a better place
